Tour Highlights

TOUR OVERVIEW

In 1870 Winnipeg was home to just a few hundred people, but by 1910 it had grown into the third-largest city in Canada. While earning a reputation as a rich and powerful metropolis, however, in many ways Winnipeg at the turn of the century remained a wild frontier town full of vice, crime, and intrigue. Join your guide for our Secrets, Sin, and Scandals of Winnipeg Walking Tour to see the impressive historic buildings that reflected our city’s early ambition and hear the fun and surprising stories of our past.

Learn about the first time someone swore on Canadian radio, hear the tale of one of the biggest gold heists in Canadian history, visit inside the stunning Manitoba Legislative Building—that many believe is actually a mysterious ancient temple—and much more. Amusing and informative, this tour will show you some of Canada’s most beautiful architecture while helping you understand why the YMCA once declared Winnipeg to be the wickedest city in the country!

VISIT THE MUST-SEE MANITOBA LEGISLATIVE BUILDING

The most valuable building in Manitoba, the ‘Leg’ is also regarded as one of the most beautiful and intricate buildings in North America. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the interior and will have time to explore on your own so you can check this must-see stop off your Winnipeg bucket list.

Yes, all guests 18 years old and up must present valid photo identification (e.g a driver’s license or a passport) to visit inside the Manitoba Legislative Building. If you do not have identification or would prefer not to show it, you can join our tour for the outside portions, and can wait outside while the group is inside.

As well, everyone must also go through security (like at the airport) to enter the Legislative Building, so reducing the number of bags you bring with you will make it an easier process for you – but you are welcome to bring bags and backpacks should you wish.

If you see an empty box on our calendar, it is because we are not running tours that day. Please look for dates in green on the calendar to select a ticket for purchase.
